Coming to Hong Kong April 19-20: Melon HK, a science fiction conference featuring writers, filmmakers, publishers and producers from China and the West.
Prominent speakers include a founder editor of io9, a (former) director of Penguin Random House, the first PhD graduate in author of the first PhD dissertation on Chinese sci-fi, and an ensemble of China’s up-and-coming sci-fi authors.
The conference is split up into two days:
An “Industry Day” about publishing, gaming, fundraising and production (~110 USD)
A “Fans Day” featuring writers panels and quite possibly a lightsaber performance (FREE!)
