China’s WebOS?

The headline from Linghuchang’s* Linghucong’s blog reads “PC2N: China’s WebOS.” This is followed by a screencap of it in action:
Look familiar? According to the PC2N website, it “has a Windows-like environment, click here to try.” The service also boasts 2GB of storage, and the GUI itself looks like an XP-Vista hybrid. It runs pretty well in fact, now if only it didn’t look like Windows SO much…

* Linghucong has blogged about my typo of his name here – I copied the name off the top wrong that morning, 哎呀! (I just realized it is a well-known WuXia name reference but at the time, I wasn’t reading the Chinese for it.)

Once again we have copyright infringement with no disregard to the developers in mind.
Is originality a definite undertone?
Copyright laws haven’t ripened but…
In the US people copy each other too; they just make it different enough so they don’t get in (copyright) trouble.
Originality? I dunno. I thought it was pretty original the way they implemented a WinXP interface online, but hey, I guess we have different definitions of that 🙂
