This is almost two months old, but I think it’s interesting nonetheless…
The companies who have recently joined the London-based the Climate Group include China Mobile, Suntech, Broad Air Conditioning and Lenovo.
According to the Guardian, “China Mobile has agreed, initially, to reduce energy intensity of its $47bn (about £29bn) annual business by 40%, double the national target.”
To put that in perspective, according to a Chinese state think tank (Reuters did not name which one), greenhouse emissions will double or more in two decades.
So the question is: When will that 40% cut be met?
