Chinese celeb superblog
Xu Jinglei’s blog, one of the most popular in China, has received over 14 million hits since she started writing last October. Xu is a wellknown actress and director who has appeared in such films as “Letter from an Unknown Woman” starring herself and Jiang Wen; “Spicy Love Soup”; and “Far From Home”. She writes about what she eats, who she sees, what she does everyday, posts photos of herself and her friends. I don’t know the Chinese film world well enough to know which American actress she might compare to in terms of her image–but imagine, say Jennifer Aniston, or Nicole Kidman blogging…
Her heavily trafficked blog is raising issues about advertising revenue-sharing models for Chinese bloggers, according to China Web2.0 Review. Sina, which hosts her blog, thinks it should get all the revenue (there are no ads on the blog yet); Xu and other bloggers think they should get a share of the profits.
Xu jinglei also claimed that blogs just present limited reality. I think in some degree, the celebrity blogs in China is a kind of communication strategies that helps to keep their fame.
i think xu is china’s Scarlett Johnson:)
